Published by Legacy on Feb. 27, 2023.
Ronald M. Antonyak passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023, at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Julia (Cherney) Antonyak, and his siblings Barbara Antonyak, Geraldine Kozlevcar, and MaryAnn Shipsky. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years M. Elaine Antonyak, and his sister Joan Ferraro. Also surviving are his children and grandchildren Marc and Kathy Antonyak and their children Tyler and Hannah; Kristen and Brian Nytch and their children Alexis, Lleyton and Chelsea; Mike and Susie Antonyak and their son Andrew.
Ron graduated from Forest City High School, the University of Scranton, and served three years in the United States Navy. He retired from Singer Link (Raytheon) after 32 years. Ron was happy being outdoors. Whether shoveling snow or maintaining the lawn, Ron endlessly worked on his projects year round. In retirement he could be found assisting others with their landscaping through the GROW Program.
Ron also enjoyed supporting and coaching his children and grandchildren in their sporting and recreational activities. He always stayed active with walking and shooting baskets. He was an avid Syracuse basketball, NY Yankees, and Phillies fan.
Ron will be missed as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. As a devoted Catholic, a private funeral Mass will be celebrated for him at St. Francis of Assisi in Hillcrest, NY. He will be buried at Holy Spirit Cemetery, Binghamton, NY.
