Ella King
HUBBELL ? Mrs. Ella (Robert) King, 64, of Hubbell died Saturday, April 13, 1989 at Calumet Public Hospital shortly after being admitted.
The former Ella Cadwell was born June 17, 1924 in Calumet, a daughter of the late John and Mildred Barkell-Cadwell.
She attended Calumet schools and resided in Hubbell since 1946.
Mrs, King worked for Quality Market in Calumet, the former Scott Hotel in hancock, Al?s Supper Club, for 10 years at Our Lady of Mercy Convalescent Home and for eh Community Action Agency, retiring in September, 1988.
On May 11, 1946 she married Robert King. She was a member of St. Cecilia Church in Hubbell and the altar society, a religious education teacher, president of the Torch Lake Council Knights of Columbus Auxiliary 2713, president of Copper Ingot Post 4624 Auxiliary and a charter member of the Hubbell Fire Department Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Mark (Sherry) of Hubbell; three daughters, Mrs. Bonnie (John) Thurston of Wayland, Mrs. Roberta (Jim) Crouch of Lake Linden, Mrs. Pat (Robert) Rule on Ontonagon; two brothers, Jack Cadwell of Calumet and Clayton Cadwell of Plymouth; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy (Clayton) Berryman of Laurium, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson of Birmingham and Mrs. Jean MacKinnen of Muskegon, and 14 grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Tuesday in St. Cecilia Church in Hubbell with Father James Genovesi and Father James Tepin to officiate.
Friends may call at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden from 2-5 PM and 7-9 PM today. A parish prayer service is planned for 7:45 PM and at 8 PM there will be a VFW Auxiliary Memorial Service.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
