Fournier, Joan M. Ann Arbor, MI
Age 83, died peacefully at home on April 3, 2010. She was a loving wife and mother who is already being missed by her family. Joan loved the arts and was an avid reader and well-informed political debater. She was born in on Detroit MI on October 14, 1926 to Herbert and Edith Dundon. She married the love of her life, Tom Fournier, on June 1, 1946. After their eight children were all in school, Joan earned her masters degree in Library Science and worked as a librarian in Ypsilanti, Southfield and with the Michigan Municipal League. She belonged to book clubs and was most recently a member of the Literary Loungers (Ann Arbor) through 2009. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, her children, Julie Bloomfield, MaryAlice Galloway (Dennis), Tom Fournier, Jr. (Betty), Tim Fournier (Chris), Gay Marie Fournier (Rod Kroes), Amy Fournier, Joe Fournier (Molly), and Steve Fournier (Leslee); and 14 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary Magdalen, 2201 Old US 23, Brighton, MI 48114 at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 24.
