CHICOPEE - It is with great sadness that the family of Florence (Bigos) Cady announces her passing. Florence was the daughter of the late Paul Bigos and Anna (Strycharz) Bigos. She was born on December 13, 1920 in Chicopee and raised here. Florence was a hairdresser, having gone to school to learn the trade in her twenties. Florence was pre-deceased by her husband of forty six years, Albert "Zeke" Cady. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Edward Bigos, Lucien Bigos and a sister, Esther Padykula. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Carol Gamache and her husband, Kenny Gamache. Florence adored her son-in-law, Kenny. She loved him as a son. His presence brightened her day and always brought a smile to her face. Florence leaves a son, John Cady of Chicopee; a step son, Gerald Cady of Irasburg, VT; her grandson, Scott Gamache and his wife, Ali of Agawam; and her grandson, Matthew Cady of Easthampton. She was a Great Babci to Jordon Cady and Elana Cady. Her desire to see her newest great grandchild, Tyler Gamache, kept Mom with us for the past few weeks. Florence also leaves a brother, Paul Bigos, Jr. of Westfield, a sister-in-law, Helen Bigos of Chicopee and several nieces and nephews. Florence's wish was to be in her own home through her illness. For the last five years her daughter provided her the comfort of being in her own home and devoted her time in taking care of her precious mother. Mom was well known for her gift of hospitality. She loved people, her door was always open. She loved life, her face was always full of sunshine with a smile for everyone. Florence's daughter would like to thank Dr. Michael D'Alessandro for the wonderful care and compassion he provided for Florence. Also, Sherry Ferro, N.P. for coming to Florence's home, providing impeccable care, compassion and helping with the many problems that occurred with her illness. Sherry was Mom's guardian angel. Also her special care givers, Dawn Holland, Kelly Hooper and Debbie Franklin. Mom adored them. A special thank you goes to Baystate VNA & Hospice for making Florences's transition comfortable. Funeral services were provided by Cierpial Memorial Funeral Homes in Chicopee. Donations may be made in memory of Florence, to Baystate Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 50 Maple St., P.O.
