Ann Marie "Annie" (Gamache) Barrow, 54, of Potomska Road, Dartmouth, Mass., died Friday, July 8, 2005, in Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of Scott Raymond Barrow; they would have been married 25 years this October.
Born in Fall River, Mass., she was the daughter of Aurele H. Gamache and Mary E. (Fitzgerald) Gamache of Fall River. She had been a resident of Dartmouth since 1972.
A 1968 graduate of the former Dominican Academy in Fall River, she continued her education at UMass Dartmouth receiving a degree in English and a second degree in fine art painting, graduating in 1975.
She was a self-employed artist and illustrator for 30 years, specializing in greeting cards, children's books and portraits of well-known individuals in the Dartmouth area.
Mrs. Barrow was a member of the Society of Children's Books, Writers and Illustrators, and her work has been exhibited throughout New England. She has a permanent exhibit in the gallery at Keene State College in Keene, N.H.
Survivors include her widower; her parents; a daughter, Gwenyth Ellen Barrow of Dartmouth; a son, Patrick Graham Barrow of Dartmouth; a stepdaughter, Bethany Lynne Barrow of New Bedford, Mass.; three brothers, Ronald Gamache of Somerset, Mass., Richard Gamache of Barrington, Mass., and John Gamache of Bristol, R.I.; a sister, Marian Desrochers of Allentown, N.H.; two nieces; and four nephews.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Allen's Neck Friends Meeting House, 739 Horseneck Road, Dartmouth. Burial will be in Allen's Neck Friends Meeting House Cemetery, Dartmouth.
Arrangements are by the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth.
