- [S5] Obituary.
Chantel D. Gamache, age 14, left this world Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002 A.D., near her home in the Chewiliken Valley, southeast of Tonasket.
Chantel was born into the hands of her father, Michael Jay Gamache, on Sept. 10, 1988 A.D., at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, HI, and she spent her childhood years growing up in the Tonasket-Oroville area, where she was active in the Okanogan Valley Horsemen's club, serving as the group's current Vice-President. Chantel loved music, singing, songwriting, but most of all, she loved horses.
Those who were touched by her brief life will remember her for her radiant personality, her adult-like demeanor, her winning smile, and will forever wonder? "why?"
Chantel is survived by her parents, Michael Jay & Candice R. Gamache, and her brother, Jacob Godesky-Gamache, at home in the Chewiliken; birthmother, Michelle D. Gamache; and a brother, Shane J. Gamache, of Nome, Alaska; a sister, Natasha N. Gamache, of Anchorage, Alaska; a brother Kevin M. Normile, of Kingman, Arizona; and grandparents, Francis Miller, of Nome, Alaska, and Lorraine and Mel Rath, of Tonasket, Washington.
A memorial service will be held for Chantel D. Gamache, Friday, Dec. 13th, 2002, at 11 a.m., at the Ellisforde Church of the Brethren, on Highway 97 in Ellisforde, with Mark Alan (Rabenold) officiating.
