- Gamache, Simone - Nun and teacher (Hull, Quebec, March 31, 1912 - Ottawa, Ontario, Oct 9, 1982). She took her vows in 1930 and began, under the name of Sister Charles-Auguste, a career as a teacher and principal of elementary schools in several localities in Ontario: Ottawa, Paincourt, Alfred, Hawkesbury, St-Conrad and Sudbury. She was named president of the association of Franco-Ontarian teachers in 1963 and became the first editor of the newspaper ``Le Voyageur`` in 1968. From 1963 to 1966, she wrote and published eight educational notebooks, which, for several years, are used in French schools in Ontario
