Deceased Name: EDITH GAMACHE, 79
WORCESTER -- Edith Gamache, 79, of 240 Belmont St. and 39 Monterey Road, a retired cook, died Saturday, Sept. 16, at home after being stricken ill.
She leaves a brother, Victor Gamache of Manchester, N.H.; a sister, Irene Truska of Manchester, N.H.; nieces and nephews. Her longtime companion, John A. Dinoi, died in May. Born in Manchester, N.H., daughter of Willibert and Diana (Chartier) Gamache, she moved to Worcester many years ago.
Miss Gamache was a cook 30 years for the Glavin Center in Shrewsbury, retiring in 1987. She also had worked for American Optical Co., Southbridge.
She attended Our Lady of Fatima Church and was a member of the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association.
The funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 22, from Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. St. John's Church, 44 Temple St. Burial will be Saturday, Sept. 23, in St. Augustine Cemetery, Manchester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent, or memorial donations made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1818, Memphis, TN 38101.
