CHAMPLAIN ? Eleanor A. Gaudette, 85, of Champlain, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at her home.
Mrs. Gaudette was born July 8, 1920, in Rouses Point, N.Y., the daughter of Napolean and Margaret (Patnode) Chenevert. Her parents predeceased her.
She graduated from Rouses Point High School in June of 1937. She married Clayton F. Gaudette; he predeceased her on Nov. 15, 1996. Mrs. Gaudette enjoyed watching NASCAR drivers Michael Waltrip and Bill Davis. She also liked listening to the songs of Randy Travis and Daniel O'Donald and playing a good hand of cards, which kept her car tin full of change.
Survivors include seven sons, Gerald and Ann Gaudette of Rouses Point, Maurice and Linda Gaudette of Scotia, N.Y., Donald Gaudette of Rouses Point, Ronald and Bonnie Gaudette of Plattsburgh, Bruce and Linda Gaudette of Rouses Point, Richard Gaudette of Champlain and Jeffery and Racheal Gaudette of Champlain; one daughter, Margaret Gaudette of Champlain; one brother, Benedict Chenevert of Plattsburgh; one sister, Clara Gooley of Champlain; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Gaudette was predeceased by one son, Lester Gaudette on May 14, 1996; three brothers, Horatio Chenevert, Thomas Chenevert and William Chenevert; seven sisters, Bertha Swinton, Anna Gamache, Dorothy Mussen, Mabel LaBombard, Margaret Hill, Beatrice Supernault and Elizabeth Castine.
Calling hours will be on Friday, June 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at M.B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home, 196 Elm St., Champlain, N.Y. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Champlain. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery on Church Street in Champlain.
