- [S5] Obituary.
Saratoga Springs, NY - Elizabeth Tatiana Cornelius, 20, passed away suddenly on March 29, 2011. Elizabeth is the daughter of William and Karen (Carmody) Cornelius and the sister of Jillian C. Cornelius all of Saratoga Springs, New York.
Born in Rochester, New York on March 27, 1991, Elizabeth moved to the area with her family and was a 2009 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. Elizabeth was a second year student at SUNY Cobleskill where she was earning a bachelors degree in business. Uniquely, Elizabeth had her future clearly mapped out. Upon completing her degree at Cobleskill, she would pursue her MBA in Boston and planned to use her business acumen to grow and support a large group veterinary practice. Her favorite professor and mentor; Dr. Nancy Burton was instrumental in providing the foundation, the encouragement and the enthusiasm to realize that goal. During her time at Cobleskill Elizabeth established wonderful friendships, and shared many of them with friends and family in Saratoga.
Elizabeth truly loved living in Saratoga where she adored (and was especially adored by) her friends, their parents, and her neighbors along with many of the business owners at her favorite places in town; specifically Uncommon Grounds, Esperantos, and DAndreas. Elizabeth and Jillian have three pets Labs Biff and Fab (who were trained by her to smile on command) and a great big orange cat named Conrad.
While in Cobleskill, she was fortunate to have some life-long family friends in her midst. The Gunzinger family has and continues to be a wonderful source of love and support. Elizabeth enjoyed tremendous care throughout her life from Drs Schnakenberg and Diaz, along with staff ; Diane, Joann, Shelby and Darwin of Community Care Family Medicine in Clifton Park.
In addition to her parents and sister, Elizabeth is survived by her maternal Grandpa Edmund J. Carmody, formerly of Cobleskill, New York; her favorite Great Uncle Kurt and Aunt Sue Schuessling and their entire family of Middle Island, NewYork; her Uncle Mike and Aunt Roberta Carmody of Loudonville; and Aunt Beth and Uncle Michael McHale of Clifton Park. She will continue to be an inspiration to her cousins, David and Kevin Carmody of Loudonville and Zachary and Marielle McHale of Clifton Park. Elizabeth was sadly predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Carol (Gamache) Carmody in 1988. Moreover, Elizabeth will be missed by many second and third cousins and their beautiful families.
Elizabeths bright smile, engaging laugh and sparkling eyes will be missed by all those who had the privilege to know her. Her most treasured moments were spent with family ,friends and any and all animals. Clearly, Elizabeth has too many wonderful friends and acquaintances to mention though rest assured, she loved each and every one of you.
Please join her family for calling hours on Sunday, April 3rd from 1-4pm, and again on Monday morning April 4th at 10 am for a service to celebrate Everything about her at the William J.
