- [S5] Obituary.
FLORENCE W. (ORZECHOWSKI) GAMACHE
GAMACHE, FLORENCE W. (ORZECHOWSKI), 89, of Duncan Road, Warwick, died on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Kent County Memorial Hospital in Warwick. She was the wife of the late retired Lt. Col. Paul L.Gamache, a World War II and Korean Conflict veteran. Born in Taunton, MA, the daughter of the late Jacob and Victoria (Walczak) Orzechowski, she lived in Warwick for 55 years.
Florence and her young family spent much time in Europe in their early years, and were one of the few that stayed in Germany during the Berlin airlift. She raised five children with unselfish love and a great sense of adventure. A consummate reader, she often said that a good book is a good friend. She had a sense of style throughout. Her love of nature and beauty was an inspiration to all who knew her. She is survived by three sons, David P. Gamache of Richmond, Gregory P.Gamache of North Kingstown, and Christopher P. Gamache of Exeter; two daughters, Michele G. Ingram of Newport and Deidre A. Bissonette of Warwick; and six grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be private. Arrangements by Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, Warwick.
