LEHIGHTON, Pa. ? Gerard E. ?Gerry? Gilbert, 83, of Lehighton, formerly of Pittsfield, NH, passed away April 9, 2005, at The Summit, on the Gnaden Huetten campus of Blue Mountain Health System, Lehighton.He was the husband of Maryann E. (Howell) Gilbert and they celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary this past August. Born in Allenstown, N.H., he was the son of Ernest and Maria (Brosseau) Gilbert. He was plant manager and superintendent at the former Stanwood Mills, Inc., Slatington, for 30 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Assumption BVM Catholic Church, Slatington. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Allen O? Delke American Legion Post 16, Slatington. He was a former member of the Slatington Rotary Club and the Poor Man?s Golf Association. Survivors include his wife; son, Richard G. and wife, Patricia Gilbert, of Slatington; daughters, Jacquelyne and husband, Thomas Pickle, of Easton, Constance Gilbert and life partner, Shirley Bredimeire of Northwood, N.H.; brothers, Roger and wife, Ann Gilbert, of Chicopee, Mass., Lucien and wife, Rita Gilbert, of Suncook, N.H.; sisters, Theresa Campbell, Elizabeth Plante and Rita LeMay, all of Suncook, N.H.; half-brother, Robert and wife, Beverly Gamache, of Burlington, Wis.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a. M., Wednesday, April 13 at the Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 649 W. Washington St., Slatington, Pa. Calling hours are 10 a. M. until the service at the church. Arrangements are being held by Harding Fox Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd St., Slatington, Pa. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer?s Foundation or Adult Day Care Center of the Blue Mountain Health Care System, Palmerton Campus care of the funeral home.
