MANCHESTER - Irene A. Mailman, 76, of Manchester, NH, died January 23, 2019, after a period of declining health.
Born in Nashua, NH on June 23, 1942, she was the daughter of Alfred and Bertha (Hudon) Girard.
Until her retirement, she was employed with New England Telephone Company in Nashua, NH and Portland, ME for thirty-three years.
Devoted to her faith, she was an active communicant of Sacred Heart Church where she served as a Eucharist minister. She was a volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
Her kind, devoted, and caring disposition served as an example to many. Irene has left a treasured legacy to all who knew and loved her. She loved spending time with her family and close circle of friends.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Frederick Girard and Donald Girard as well as two sisters, Edna LeBlanc and Jeannette Brodeur.
Family members include her husband of forty-six years, James I. Mailman, Sr.; two sons, Dana T. Mailman of Manchester and James I. Mailman, Jr., and his wife, Deann, of Goffstown; two grandsons, Bryce and Theodore; a sister, Natalie Gamache of CA; a niece, Laurie Gormley and her husband, Robert, of Merrimack; a nephew, Mark Bosse of Los Angeles, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, corner of Concord Street, Manchester, NH.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Manchester, NH.
Burial will take place in Saint Louis De Gonzague Cemetery, Nashua, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Food Bank, 700 East Industrial Drive, Manchester, NH 03109.
