Jacqueline Claire (Thibault) Gamache, aged 88 years, of Middleboro, died on May 24, 2014, at Nemasket Health Care Center, Middleboro, after a courageous battle with cancer. Married for 54 years to the late Leo Joseph Gamache, who predeceased her in July of 2008. She was the daughter of the late Henri? and Anna (Boule?) Thibault. Born and educated in Fall River, she worked in the city?s many textile mills while in her teens and twenty?s, subsequently moving to Somerset while continuing to work in Fall River. She married in 1954, moved to Middleboro, and took pride in her town for the next 60 years. Together Jackie and Leo operated a farm and gave away food to help anyone in need. Jackie was a faithful, long-time member of the First Congregational Church on the Green and enjoyed participating in church programs, especially the annual silver tea. She was a member of the North Middleboro Mother?s Club and the PTA, took sewing lessons, enjoyed cooking and loved to read. For many years she was a day care volunteer at the Middleboro COA, was subsequently hired and later returned to her volunteer position taking care of the elderly until she became sick in November. Jackie took great delight in her children, grandchildren, extended family and dear friends. She also babysat children for many years, some of whom stayed in touch with her throughout her life. Survivors include four sons, Norman and his wife Gail, Albert and his wife Debra, Ronald and his wife Cathy all of Middleboro, Eugene and his wife Michele of Bow, NH, a daughter, Irene Hudson and her husband Richard of Dighton, two brothers, Paul and Roland Thibault and Roland?s wife Eileen of Somerset, three sisters, Germaine St. Rock of Somerset, Constance Powers of Port Richey, FL, Ann Marie Madden of Westerly, RI, three sisters-in-law, Annette Thibault of Somerset, Carman Thibault of Madrid, Spain and Eleanor Gamache of Lakeville. She was mother of the late Henry Gamache and sister to the late Bertrand and Conrad Thibault, Cecile Fusco and Annette Caron. A wake will be held at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St Middleboro, from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, May 28th. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, May 29th at the First Congregational Church on the Green with interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:15 pm.
