BERLIN ? Jean Paul Gamache, 87, of Berlin, passed away Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at his home. He was born in Thetford Mines, PQ, Canada on Oct. 26, 1927, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Provencal) Gamache and lived in Berlin since he was 10. He had served with the U.S. Army during World War II and been employed in the Towel Room of the mill, retiring from Crown Vantage in 1990, after 45 years of service. Jean Paul was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the American Legion and the Union Local 75.
Family members include his wife Pauline (Laliberte) Gamache of Berlin; son, Raymond Gamache and wife, Elaine of Berlin; daughters, Gloria Gamache of Somerville, Mass. and Dolores Albee and husband, Charles of Pembroke; grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Christopher, Jillian, David and Jonathan; four great-grandsons, Cooper, Jack, Charlie and Garrett; brother, Joseph (Marcel) Gamache of Minneapolis; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Jeannette in 1957, five sisters and two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 1 p.m. at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish.
Interment will be in the St. Anne Cemetery.
