Joseph S. Medina, 80 years, of Taunton, died June 14, 2012. He was born in Fall River to the late Silverio and Cecilia (Gamache) Medina. Joseph was raised in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School. He previously lived in North Easton and Cape Cod before moving to Taunton in 1894. As a young man he had worked for the Raytheon Corporation and later became a department manager for the former Mammoth Mart/Kings Department Store here in Brockton and retired many years ago. In his early days Joe was remembered for his love of song and piano and later his passion for fishing. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good joke and teasing those he loved. Joseph was a loving husband to the late Lorraine (Barboza) Medina. He is survived by his children; Dana A. Medina of New Mexico, Debbie Medina-Pearson and her husband David of Cape Cod, Dennis A. Medina and his wife Stacey of Brockton, Darrell Medina of Falmouth, David A. Medina and his wife Jolynn of Mississippi, Deanna Walko and her husband Tom of New Hampshire, Steven Costa of Rhode Island, Terry Albertini of East Taunton and Lorie Archer and her husband David of Taunton and his grandchildren Meggin, Jonathan, Michael, Joshua, Alexa, Thomas, Denise, Elizabeth, Kirstin, Derrick, Kyle, Kara, Erik and Jillian. He was also the former husband of the late Sally (Ambrosini) Mann and father of the late Denise Medina. Visiting hours in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123), Brockton, Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 5 - 8 p.m. A funeral procession will form from the funeral home Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. for a funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, North Easton at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow.
