YAKIMA - Julie Ellen Gamache (Weaver), age 51, passed away June 6, 2005 after a difficult battle with cancer. During her last days she was surrounded by the love of all of her immediate family and close friends.
Julie was born in Iowa City, Iowa March 15, 1954 along with her twin brother, Jim. She grew up in Yakima Wa, and graduated from Selah High School, class of 1972. Julie made her home for the last 30 years in Spokane, Wa where she raised her two children and lived a life full of activity. She worked for over 17 years at Inland Asphalt where she has many close and personal friends. She loved seeing everyone she worked with every day at Inland Asphalt/ Central Pre mix and loved the company and the people very much.
She was a member of NAWIC in Spokane for many years and enjoyed her positions and volunteer activities with that organization.
Julie was an avid outdoors-woman, enjoying time spent camping, fishing, traveling (cruises). She also loved working in her yard and driving her little red Datsun convertible.
Julie was gifted at creating beautiful crafts and got great joy out of giving them as special Christmas gifts to family and friends. She was devoted to her family and friends and would do anything possible to help a friend, sibling, child or even new acquaintance. What Julie enjoyed more than anything in the world was to spend time with her grandchildren, Elyssa and Hayden. They were her pride and joy and will miss her very much.
Julie loved being the life of the party and would dance the night away at any chance possible.
Julie is survived by her mother Margaret Martinez (Weaver), her son Eric Gamache, his wife Kyndra, her daughter Heather Gamache, two grandchildren, Elyssa and Hayden Gamache, Brothers, Rusty (Linda) Weaver, Hobart (Janice) Weaver, Jim (Teresa) Weaver, and Jon (Linda) Weaver. Sisters, Courtney Copeland, Holly (Ron) Crawford, and Tracy Brachtenbach.
Julie has many nephews and nieces who she loved like her own children. She enjoyed spending time with all of them during visits and the many family functions over the years. In addition to her loving family.
Julie is survived by her close friend, Don Marcille. Don is especially thanked for his support and kindness during her initial diagnosis and the last months of her life. Julie would have appreciated all the support her brothers and sisters gave to her daughter Heather and son Eric during this very difficult time. We would like to thank all of the family for opening up their homes and schedules to allow her to be comfortable, and surrounded by their love, in her last days. We are very grateful to all who helped.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Friday, June 10th, 2005 at 3:00 pm. Friends and family may call at the church one hour prior to service. Concluding services and Burial will follow in the Tahoma Cemetery.
