Shelendich, Maribeth Age 82 of Waverly Gardens, North Oaks on July 11, 2010 She was born on December 30, 1927 in New London, WI, the third of seven children of Leo V. and Agnes C. Zehren. She graduated from Shawano High School, earned an AA degree from Edgewood College in Madison and a BS degree (Medical Technology) from the University of Wisconsin. Later, she received an MS in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University. Maribeth married John Shelendich on February 3, 1950 at St. Martin Church in Cecil, WI. They raised their five children in Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota. Maribeth was an accomplished homemaker who filled the lives of her family with warmth and love. She worked as an MT(ASCP) at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati (1950-1952) and St. Paul Ramsey Hospital (1968-1993). Maribeth had a lifelong interest in the people and places of the world. She and John introduced their children to the United States, Canada and the Caribbean, camping amidst the natural beauty of state and national parks and forests. She loved flowers. Following retirement, she and John traveled across Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand. She was passionately engaged in the lives of her grandchildren, who adored her, as she taught them to cook, sew, savor holidays and appreciate the values of family, education, and a principled life. Maribeth's health declined slowly but relentlessly and she experienced numerous severe illnesses during her last years.
