Auburn ? Lucienne M. Gamache, 90, formerly of 119 Old Lisbon Road, Lewiston, died Monday, Sept. 13, at the Clover Manor Nursing Home in Auburn, where she had been a resident for the past year.
Born on Jan. 17, 1918, in Saint-Methode, PQ, Canada, she was the daughter of Odilon and Eugenie Plante Sheink. Educated in Canadian schools, she married Jean Marie Gamache in 1935. Mr. Gamache passed away in August of 1988. She worked in the local shoe industry after moving to Maine, and then spent several years working for General Electric prior to her retirement. A parishioner of Holy Cross Church and communicant of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, she also belonged to Holy Cross senior citizens, enjoyed vegetable gardening, playing cards and bingo with her friends, and in her younger years was an avid and talented bowler.
Survivors include a grandson, Joseph and wife, Wendy Gamache, of Auburn; a granddaughter, Theresa Gamache of Portland; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Max and Cassie; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband; she was predeceased by a son, Alfred Gamache.
