TOGUS ? Paul N. Lessard, 90, formerly of 41 Sabattus St., Lewiston, died Tuesday, March 11, at the Veterans? Hospital with family at his side.
He was born in Lewiston, Dec. 28, 1917, a son of Dewey and Marie (Lagasse) Lessard. He was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of the community.
On Nov. 17, 1946, he married the former Charlotte Goulet and together they raised five children. He was a military veteran having served his country in the Army during World War II, and also served for a time in the National Guard.
He worked 35 years at the Bates Mill until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion for many years and among his favorite enjoyments were fishing and going to visit his daughter in Massachusetts.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Charlotte Lessard of Lewiston; a daughter, Charlene Arruda of Fall River, Mass.; two sons, George Lessard and wife, Diane, of Lisbon Falls and Paul Lessard and wife, Sue, of Auburn; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fernande Carey of Florida, and Rita Gamache of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Veilleux; a son, Richard Lessard; a son-in-law, Manny Arruda; a sister, Muriel Robichaud; and two brothers, Albert and Maurice Lessard.
