MANCHESTER --Yvonne H. (Martel) Gamache, 94, died Dec. 16, 2008, at Hillsborough County Home in Goffstown. She was born on March 29, 1914 in Manchester, the daughter of the late Louis E. and Georgeanne (Courchesne) Martel. Besides her parents, Yvonne is predeceased by her husband, Hector Gamache; a son, Paul Gamache; one brother; and two sisters.
Members of her family include one son, Marcel Gamache, and his wife, Beatrice, of Amherst; two daughters, Louise Glaude and her husband, Maurice, of Manchester, and Pauline Patane and her husband, James, of Goffstown; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Gamache was a lifelong resident of Manchester. Before her retirement she worked for the McQuade clothing store as a stock clerk. Yvonne enjoyed bingo, bowling, playing cards, making ceramics and dancing. She was a member of the Alpine Club and the Drum and Bugle Core known as the Snowshoes. SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Friday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the McHugh Funeral Home, 483 Beech St., corner of Hanover Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at St. Joseph Cathedral, 145 Lowell St., Manchester at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.
