Robert Amper, 94, former president of Amper Iron & Steel Corp., died yesterday in Montefiore University Hospital of cardiac arrest.
Mr. Amper of Oakland was retired from the Southwest Steel Corp. He was a life board member of the Temple B'nai Israel in McKeesport and a member of Rodef Shalom Congregation in Oakland, B'nai B'rith, the Yoghiogheny Lodge 583, and the Jewish War Veterans. He was a World War I Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Yetta Azen; two sons, Norman of Pittsburgh and Alan of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a daughter, Iris Walker of Pittsburgh; two step- sons, Stuart and Jon Friedman, both of Pittsburgh; three sisters, Sara Fara Berman, Helen Yecies and Ruth Brizel, all of Miami; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received an hour before the 11 a.m. services tomorrow at Striffler's of White Oak, Lincoln Way and O'Neil Boulevard. Burial will be at Temple Cemetery in McKeesport.
