  [S11] Baptismal Record. [S5] Obituary. The Daily Mining Gazette, Houghton, Michigan December 21, 1924: Mrs. Gamasche, Well Known Resident of L'Anse, Summoned Mrs. Alphonse Gamasche, esteemed L'Anse resident, died early Saturday morning at her home. She had been ailing for several years but her condition did not become serious until a short time ago. Mrs. Gemasche was born in L?islet, Canada, in 1860, and July 12, 1883, she was married to Mr. Gemasche in Wilton, N. H. During the same year the couple came to L'Anse, making the trip by water. Mrs. Gemasche was one of the early settlers here and had many friends in the district. Surviving are the husband and the following children: R. D. Gemasche of Detroit, Mrs. Paul Wells of Detroit, Mrs. Henry King of Iron Mountain, Gabriele, a student at St. Norbert's College, Depere, Wis., Mrs. Henry Fournier, Mrs. John Huot and Miss Stella of L'Anse. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock with services from Sacred Heart church. A requiem high mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Ledgens, the pastor.
