Harry Alexander Stokes of 412 S. Main St., Greenville, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Friday (10-12-07) in White-Cliff Nursing Home, Hempfield Township. He was 69. A son of S. Alex and Gladys Rhoads Stokes, Mr. Stokes was born Jan. 31, 1938, in Blairsville, Pa. A 1956 graduate of the former Penn High School in Greenville, he was employed in the mail room of the former Sharon Steel Corp.?s Farrell plant, retiring after 30 years of service. Mr. Stokes served in the Army from 1961 to 1963, attaining the rank of private first class. He was a member of Zion?s Reformed United Church of Christ, Greenville; and a past member of Greenville Kiwanis Club. He is survived by a cousin, Barbara Lang, Norfolk, Va. Mr. Stokes was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to Greenville Kiwanis Club, 259 East Ave., Greenville. STOKES Harry Alexander, 69, of 412 S. Main St., Greenville.
