McCoy 1926-2010 SPRINGFIELD - Esther Ann (Zei) McCoy, 84, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, Jan. 29, at Baystate Medical Center in Spring-field. Born in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Frederick and Catherine (Koch) Zei, she resided in Springfield since 1965. Esther was the beloved wife of the late Cecil L. "Mac" McCoy who passed away in 1991 and was also predeceased by her beloved son, Mark in 1981. She was a communicant of Holy Name Church in Springfield and was the first Golden Girl in Springfield and first Senior Ms. Massachusetts. She is survived by her nine children, Athena Nader of Springfield, Charles McCoy of Deerfield, IL, Christopher McCoy of East Longmeadow, Catherine McCoy of Chatham, Claudia Gamache, Kevin McCoy, and Maria McCoy, all of Springfield, Timothy and Patrick McCoy both of Longmeadow; her sister, Caroline Bickle of Chicago; 20 grandchildren, Shawn Santanello, Elizabeth Bullock, Father Charles McCoy, Madeleine McCoy, Marlena McCoy, Matthew McCoy, Catherine Ng Dung, Kevin McCoy, Aaron Gamache, Anna Miles, Patrick Gamache, Michael McCoy, Nadine McCoy, Kyle McCoy, Mark James McCoy, Jessica McCoy, Caroline McCoy, Brendan McCoy, Caitlin McCoy, and Maura McCoy and 7 great grandchildren, Aurora and Blaine Ng Dung, Madeleine McCoy, Lucy and Audrey Bullock, Miles Santanello and Lily Miles. Esther's funeral will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 9 a.m. from Hafey Springfield Chapels, 494 Belmont Ave., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Church, 323 Dickinson St., Springfield. Committal Rites with entombment will occur after the funeral Mass at St. Michael's the Archangel Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
