  [S5] Obituary. Carl A, Shadwell, 71, of Stewardson, Illinois died at 8:22 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2000, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, Illinois. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Effingham, with burial in Saint Francis Cemetery, Teutopolis. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham. Memorials may be made to charities of donors choice. Mr. Shadwell was born September 30, 1929, in Effingham, the son of Ralph N. and Annie (Johnson) Shadwell. He married Mary Vernette Buehnerkemper in 1949. She died in 1995. He was the retired owner/operator of Shadwell Plumbing and Heating in Effingham and Stewardson, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Effingham. Surviving are his sons, Steve of Charleston, Bruce of Stewardson; daughters, Sue Zalman of Stewardson, Carla Vonderheide of Strasburg; sister Fae Cash of Bethel, Ohio; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, and two brothers.
