Robert Azen Obituary
Robert S. "Max" Azen, 69, of Shaler Township, died Monday, May 12, 2014. He was the beloved longtime companion of Lorraine Kobert. He was a retired employee of the H.J. Heinz Company and Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Bob "Max" is survived by his sisters, Catherine (Toni) Makay and Penny Hammack; stepbrothers and sister, Albert Azen, Martin Azen and Marlene; his sons, Robert Azen Jr., Steven Azen and Shawn Azen; Lorraine's sons, Albert Kobert III and Terry Kobert Sr.; grandchildren, Erin, Tyler, Patrick and Avery Azen, Nickolas Azen, Mattie and Holden Goodgine; Pap Pap to Dylan, Alonna, Darren, Terry Jr. and Hayden Kobert. He is also survived by many beloved nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Azen; sister, Nancy Phillips; and stepbrother, Joe Azen. He was a vice president on the Allegheny Labor Council and was on the board of the Union Label and Trades Council for the AFL/CIO. He was a lifetime member of the UFCW Local 325/23. He was a passionate past president of the PORCC oldies club, an avid member and Prelate of the Moose Lodge 46, belonged to the Elk's Lodge, the VFW, was treasurer of the Allegheny Rockets Oldsmobile Club and the Shaler Democratic Committee. Bob was an avid golfer and loved his Doo Wop oldies music. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the BOCK FUNERAL HOME LTD., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Parish, O'Hara Township.
