Ralph Mazer, 86, of Connellsville, died Wednesday, April, 24, 2013 in Uniontown Hospital. He was born May 18, 1926 in Pittsburgh a son of the late Abe & Mary Garson Mazer. He grew up in Elwood City & graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, then moved to Connellsville. Ralph was a very active member of the Tree of Life Synagogue in Connellsville, which relocated to Uniontown where Ralph kept up his faithful membership. During his 60 year residency in Connellsville Ralph established the Youth Center Children?s Clothing Store. He was regarded as a respected businessman in Connellsville & surrounding communities, known for his charisma, personality & concern for everyone. Ralph was active in numerous Jewish organizations, including B?Nai Brith, United Jewish Fund, Temple Israel, & served as Treasurer of the Board of Directors at the Synagogue. He served during the Korean War, where he held a senior level intelligence position. Ralph was active in the Connellsville Chamber of Commerce & Elks Club. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marsha J. Mazer, a daughter Lora Mazer Cohn of Manhattan Beach, CA, 2 granddaughters, Jordan Leigh (15) & Bari Lynne (12). In addition to his parents Ralph was predeceased by a son Jack Allan Mazer. Friends will be received from 10AM-1PM Friday in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME 123 S. 1st St. West Side, Connellsville (724) 628-9033. A service will be held at 1PM in the funeral home with Dr. Perry Hallman officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Society Cemetery, Hopwood. In lieu of flowers Ralph?s family suggests memorial donations be made to Fayette EMS 301 S. Arch St. Connellsville, PA 15425.
