Deceased Name: ROLAND G. LAFLEUR, 75
SOUTHBRIDGE - Roland G. Lafleur, 75, of Southbridge, an avid bowler, died yesterday in Harrington Memorial Hospital after he was stricken ill at home.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Ida (Gamache) Lafleur; three brothers, Alvares Lafleur of North Grosvenordale, Paul Lafleur in Connecticut and Richard Lafleur of Putnam; three sisters, Etoila Morrissette and Cecile St. Germain, both of Danielson, and Lorraine Arakelly of Mansfield Center, Conn.; nephews and nieces. He was born in Canada, son of Arthur and Albina (Dumas) Lafleur, and lived here most of his life.
He was a lens generator at American Optical where he worked more than 40 years. He retired in 1981.
Mr. Lafleur was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church; the American Optical Quarter-Century Club; and the Hayloft Steppers Square Dancing Club in Sturbridge.
The funeral will be held Thursday from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 30 Charlton St. His nephew, Rev. Roland Gamache of Winchendon, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Organ Fund of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, care of the rectory, 34 Charlton St., Southbridge, 01550.
