Harold James ?Jim? Marinich, 80, long time Ishpeming Township resident, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, at his home.
Jim was born on March 25, 1940, in L?Anse, son of the late John and Agnes (Campeau) Marinich. He served his country in the United States Army and recently enjoyed going on the U.P. Honor Flight to Washington DC.
Jim enjoyed riding his Harley, going for side by side rides, sitting in his lawn chair in his garage where he socialized with the neighborhood. He enjoyed people watching, was a great mechanic who could fix anything, and most of all loved his grandsons.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Debbie Leaf; brothers, Roger (Kathy) Marinich, Leroy (Nancy) Marinich; sister-in-law, Carol Marinich; two grandchildren, Dillan (Becca Poirier) Leaf, Dallas Leaf; special friend, Lynn Olson; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gladys Marinich; and brother, Jack Marinich.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the family will be holding a private Memorial Service on Friday Dec. 11, to honor Jim?s life with Pastor Matt Osborne officiating, and will be holding a larger celebration of life at a later date when restrictions are lifted.
Inurnment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens in Negaunee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to UPAWS in memory of Jim.
