  [S5] Obituary. NEW BEDFORD -- Ledia A. (Becotte) Lajoie, 81, of New Bedford, formerly of Acushnet, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at the Oaks Nursing Home after a long illness. She was the widow of Normand Lajoie. Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late William and E. Ledia (Pratt) Becotte, she moved to Acushnet in 1971 and back to New Bedford seven years ago. Mrs. Lajoie was the proprietor of the former Market Place of Acushnet Avenue and the Whaling City Amusements. She was a member of the Miami Showman's Association. Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline N. Gamache of Acushnet; a sister, Yvonne Loranger of New Bedford; a brother, Armand Becotte of Fairhaven; two grandchildren, Jamis Gamache of North Carolina and Jill Gamache of Acushnet; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Neumann Church. Arrangements are by the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd.
