BIDDEFORD - Rose A Cantara, 88, of 407 Pool Road and formerly of York Mainor, died Saturday at St Andre's Healthcare Facility. She was born in Montreal on January 14, 1904, a daughter of Henri and Adeline Gamache Girard, and attended Canadian and Biddeford schools. She worked for several years in area shoe shops and textile mills. Mrs Cantara enjoyed reading, baking and crocheting. She was involved with the newsletter at York Manor and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and St Joseph's Church. Her first husband, Ernest Morin died in 1952; her second husband, Paul Cantara died in 1959. Survivors include two sons, Rene And Maurice Morin, both of Biddeford; a daughter, Pearl Caya of Biddeford; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
