COHOES, NY -- Clement Noel Grignon, 80, of Richmond Street, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, Sunday, June 5, 2005 after a brief illness. Born and educated in Cohoes, he was the husband of Lucille Devine Grignon and son of the late Irene Drogue and Henry Grignon. Clem was employed as a master mechanic for 54 years at Don's Garage on Vliet Blvd. in Cohoes. He was an avid bowler for many years in the Variety Business League and the first one in his league to join the 700 Club. He is one of the last surviving members of this league. He also was a member of the Watervliet Lodge of Elks. He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church in Cohoes. Clem was a World War II veteran and served in the 143rd Infantry Regiment of the 36th Infantry Division in the European Theatre. Clem and Lucille would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on August 31, 2005. In addition to his wife, survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Sloan of Troy; two sons, Nelson C. of Ballston Spa and Wayne Sr. of Cohoes; dear friend Jeanie; one granddaughter; six grandsons; one brother, Nelson H. of Cohoes; four sisters, Rita Perreault of Waterford, Blanche Barsey and Lillian Peak, both of Cohoes, Diane Peterson of Ballston Spa, and the late Henry Grignon III and Elizabeth Gamache. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a. M. Wednesday at the Holy Trinity Church, 122 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Interment will be at Saratoga National Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening 4-8 p. M. at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rt. 32), Waterford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community Hospice, St. Peter's Hospital, 315 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 or to the Holy Trinity Parish Restoration Fund, 122 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes, NY 12047.
