SPRINGFIELD - Marie B. (Martineau) Chabot, 86, of the North End section of Springfield was Called Safely Home on Tuesday February 1, 2005 from her home with her loving family by her side. She worked for many years as a private domestic for area families in Springfield and Longmeadow. She was born in Saint Michel Bellechasse, Province of Quebec, Canada on December 2, 1918 a beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Graziella (Gagnon) Martineau. She was raised in Canada and moved to Springfield in 1955. She was a communicant of the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Springfield and a longtime member of the Ladies of Sainte Anne Sodality in Canada. Her beloved husband, Oscar J. Chabot was Called Home on July 5, 1991. She leaves her loving children, Lucette S. Godbout and her husband Laurent of East Springfield, Jean Louis Chabot and his wife Sandra of Wilbraham, Joseph O. Chabot and his wife Debra of Longmeadow and Laurette J. Kendzierski of Springfield with whom she lived. Her 12 cherished grandchildren, Linda Hill, Nancy Johnson, Denis Godbout, Dean Chabot, Troy Chabot, Michelle Chabot, Glen Chabot, Donald Chabot, Doreen Santinello, Kristin Capell, Jamison Chabot and Matthew Chabot. Her 13 cherished great grandchildren, Brandon Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Daniel Hill, Zachary Godbout, Troy Corbino, Tiffany Corbino, Danielle Chabot, Tristin Chabot, Hunter Chabot, Alyissa Chabot, Brya Capell, Carly Capell and Bryce Santinello. Her dear sisters, Merilda R. Gamache and Pauline Larrivee, both of Springfield and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her funeral will be held Friday morning February 4, 2005 at 8:45 a.m. from the St. Pierre ? Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, 7 Chapin Terrace at the corner of Chestnut Street in Springfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 94 Springfield Street in Chicopee. Her burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery on Hampden Street in Chicopee. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home in the Chapin Chapel on Thursday February 3, 2005 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. For those who prefer to make a memorial donation, an offering may be made for Masses to be said in her memory.
