Died:
- On December 22, 2010, Cecelia E. Carson, 88 of Port Huron, found the peace she was seeking. She was born to William and Edwilda DeMars on February 2, 1922 in Detroit. Ceil graduated from St. Stephens High School in 1939, and later that year was crowned Miss Blue Water. She attended Allen Park Junior College, and the University of Detroit. Ceil had a full and productive life. She was a radio personality when she lived in Arizona, and was employed by Peoples Bank for almost 30 years. Even after her first retirement, she continued to work in sales in a couple of different offices. Ceil made friends wherever she went. She loved people, and accepted everyone as they were. She enjoyed entertaining and gardening. She was very involved in human services, and sat on the boards Quota Club, Council on Aging, Goodwill Industries, St. Clair County Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, and D.A.R.E. Missing her will be her sons, Rob (Pam) Carson, and Price Carson all of Fort Gratiot, grandchildren, Shayna Carson, Keeley Carson, Robert F. (Christina) Carson, Sanford (Amy) Carson, and Adrian (Mark) Coburn, great-grandchildren, Mitchell Carson, Chloe Carson, Molly Carson, Lauren, Lucas, and Tyler Coburn. She was preceded in death by a son, Sanford Y. Carson on January 15, 2010. A memorial mass will be held at 10 AM Saturday, January 15, 2011 at St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church with The Rev. Fr. Joseph Esper officiating. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Edward on the Lake, or St. Clair County Community Mental Health. There will be a visitation for one-hour before the mass at church. Cremation arrangements were by Smith Family Funeral Home North, 1525 Hancock Street. www.smithfamilyfuneralhome.com.
