Esther Marquis, mother of Rae Etta and Roger, passed away Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. She was in no pain and went peacefully in her sleep. All arrangements are being handled thru the Neptune Society. There are no services planned at this time. Her family had been with her constantly the last three weeks.
Esther is the daughter of Knute & Kristina (Lindberg) Benson, was born April 26, 1909. She lived in Minnesota for many years where she met the love of her life and married to Frederick Russell Marquis on Sept 2, 1933. To this union were born 2 children and in 1952 she and her family moved to Riverside, California. Esther worked for Dr. Taves for several years as his nurse.
She is survived by her son and daughter, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth and brother, Albert. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister Mabel and brother Earl.
She loved spending time with family and friends. She was an avid bowler and love to fish. Her favorite hobby was gardening. We were blessed to have this special lady in our lives for most of her 92 wonderful years and wish her love and peace, a wonderful garden to grow beautiful flowers and all of the bowling she'd ever want to do.
Esther and Russell's ashes were saved and in Jun 2004 both their ashes were poured into a River in Oregon.
