Died:
- G H Reas died at Hubbard Sunday, January 11, 1903, death resulting from heart trouble, caused by taking medicine which he mistook for his own while visiting at Sheridan.
Deceased was 74 years, 8 months and 15 days old. He was born at Palatine, Montogomery Co., N. Y. In 1838 he emigrated with his parents to Racine county, Wis. At the age of 19 he went to Berlin, Green Lake county, Wis.
On December 30, 1849, he married Miss Elizabeth Van Horn, daughter of Thomas and Mary Van Horn. Mr. Reas was engaged in the logging business on the Wisconsin river for several years, but for the past 27 years had been a resident of Spencer, Marathon county, Wis., where his remains were shipped for burial. He leaves a widow and eight children--six sons and two daughters.
Mr. Reas came out to Oregon two years ago to visit his brother, whom he had not seen for fifty years, and he was so delighted with this climate that he sold his property at Spencer and returned to Oregon, with the intention of making this section his future home. He was stopping with his brother, P. W. Reas. Another brother, D. C. Reas, was at his bedside when he passed away.
