  [S5] Obituary. NEW BEDFORD -- Florence B. (Gamache) Gilbert, 76, of Fairhaven died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the longtime companion of Robert E. Cathcart of Fairhaven. Born in Nashua, N.H., the daughter of the late Aldege and Laura (Cassita) Gamache, she lived in Fairhaven since 1992. Survivors include her companion; three sons, Donald R. Gilbert of Halifax, Richard E. Gilbert of West Wareham and James R. Gilbert of New Bedford; two daughters, Carol L. Gulnick of Anson, Maine, and Robin L. Patton of Danville, Ky.; two brothers, Aldege Gamache Jr. of Nashua and Robert Gamache of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Loretta Touisignant of Westford and Irene Mercier of Nashua; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Theresa Pelchat. Her memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven.
