Died:
- On April 7, 2021, Florian Mohar, 82, passed away peacefully in Tucson, Arizona. Florian, son of Florian and Frances Mohar, was born on March 4, 1939 in Laurium, MI. He was the second oldest child of five children that were raised in the family business, Mohar's IGA, in Laurium, MI. Florian was a 1956 graduate from Sacred Heart High School in Laurium, MI and received his BA degree in Business Administration from Michigan Tech University in 1961. On May 13, 1961, Florian married his "Ever-Lovin", Janith (Schaltz), who has been by his side in marriage for almost 60 years. Florian's careers included working for General Motors Truck and Coach in Pontiac, MI, being the owner and manager of Red Owl grocery stores in White Pine and Ontonagon, MI, owner and manager of Mohar's IGA in Ontonagon, MI, and he retired from driving school bus for the Ontonagon Area School District.
Florian and Janith have been residing in Tucson, Arizona for the past 16 years. Florian is survived by his wife, Janith, their six children: Kathy Mohar of Mason, MI, Michael Mohar (Cathe) of North Las Vegas, NV, Sue Ann Hockman (Lana) of Tucson, AZ, Tony Mohar (Jacque) of Menomonee Falls, WI, Steven Mohar (Kathy) of Germantown, WI, and Andrea Esler (Donald) of Aurora, MN. He is also survived by brother, Paul Mohar (Julie) of Laurium, MI, ten grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Florian was preceded in death by parents, Florian and Frances Mohar, and sisters, Molly, Theresa, and Rosemarie. Funeral services will be held on May 13, 2021 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Tucson, AZ and burial service will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet, MI, on Friday September 17th.
