Died:
- Lyle J Brulotte, 84, was born on Christmas Day, 1937 in Yakima, Washington, to his parents, Walter and Cecilia (Gamache) Brulotte. He passed away at his home on August 5, 2022, after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer's.
Lyle attended Holy Rosary Grade School in Moxee, Washington. At the age of 14, he moved to Lacey, Washington, where he graduated from St. Martin High School. After graduating in 1956, he joined the Army Reserves before returning home to a lifetime of farming in Moxee with his wife, Charlene (McDowell) Brulotte. They were wed on February 15, 1958, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Moxee.
He purchased his first hop farm from his father Walter Brulotte. While digging ditches together, Lyle asked his dad if he could buy the 10 acre hop ranch. Walter could not get out of that ditch fast enough. He handed Lyle his shovel and said, "I'll let you know when the first payment is due." His lifetime of farming expanded to over 1,000 acres of hops and apples. Throughout the years he grew various crops which also included wheat, hay, grapes, and a cattle ranch.
Lyle had a love for horses, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and family trips to Priest Lake in Idaho. He served his community as a member of the East Valley School board. He also served time on various hop committees through the years.
Lyle is survived by his wife of 64 years, Charlene, and four children, Brian Brulotte, Moxee, Brenda (Scott) Kokenge, Yakima, Bridget Fiscus (Terry) Moxee, and Brent Brulotte (Mary) Moxee. Lyle was a Pepe to 10 grandchildren, Cameron and Emily Brulotte, Kyler, Trevor and Lindsey Kokenge, Jene, Chelsey and Brandi Fiscus, Jenn Suckey and Kylee Brulotte. He's also survived by 13 great-grandchildren that were the light of his life the past few years.
His love of family, friends, hard work, adventure, and fun will be with us forever. Happy trails, dad. We love you, Pepe.
