Pauline N. Jean, 80, formerly of Exeter NH, died November 23, 2005, at the Merrimack County Nursing Home, Boscawen NH, after a long illness. She was born December 23, 1924, in Lowell MA, daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Beaudry) Marchand. Pauline grew up and spent most of her life in Lowell MA and was a graduate of St. Louis de France High School in Lowell. Mrs. Jean moved to Exeter NH in 1971 in hopes of giving her sons a nicer environment to live in. She worked for many years at the Phillips Exeter Academy in the dining area as a hostess. In her spare time, she enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting, and cooking, especially for the holidays.

Pauline is survived by her sons Leonard Jean of Exeter NH and Ron Jean of Hill NH; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters Helen Foley of Dracut MA, Rita Chouinard of Lowell MA, and Doris Bedard of Danvers MA; brothers Fred Marchand of Irving MA and Gerard Marchand of Michigan; and nieces and nephews.
